Decoration ideas for modern hallways

Corridors are usually narrow, dark and unattractive. However, we can put it to many uses, such as a library or a souvenir photo gallery. Many times they are so narrow that it is difficult to give them a function or make them look nice and pleasant. That is why we show you some inspiring ideas on how to decorate corridors or corridors in an aesthetic way and, where possible, add some functionality to them.

Decorate with mirrors

One of the best ways to make a narrow hallway feel larger is to add oversized floor-to-ceiling mirrors. If it's a lot, you can try a wide, framed mirror.
The mirror will give brightness and depth to the hallway. Another way to decorate halls using mirrors is to place a collection of framed mirrors of different sizes and styles, but with the same color palette. The important thing about decorating with mirrors is that they are able to enlarge and illuminate.
Adding a mirror to the end of a hallway will make a typically dark space feel lighter and larger.
A long table like this not only takes up minimal space, but also offers a convenient place to put on shoes or leave keys, in case the hallway is near the entrance of the house.

Light and bright paint

In addition to enlarging with mirrors, you can try luminous paint. The light is reflected and is capable of widening a dark and narrow corridor. Remember that cool colors do the opposite and if you paint a hallway a cool color, it will not only reduce the space but it will give the illusion that the wall falls on you.

Lightning

Another way to decorate a hallway or corridor is through lights. You can try a striking design, which will surely add style, or you can add different lights and lamps to disorient the eyes and not notice how narrow the walls are.

Or try hanging lamps of different lengths and sizes. It is important that you take into account the size of the corridor to place a certain design of lamps.

Ornaments or pictures

You can place decorations on the walls, such as sculptures, paintings, or a narrow table with a vase and give them light. This will bring the focal point to the ornament, creating the optical illusion of widening.

Try wallpaper and objects to give it personality and style. Use your imagination and creativity, it is the best way to give a good decoration to this space that is usually not very aesthetic
Hanging family portraits, photographs and artwork is an easy solution to add a personal touch to the hallway. Choosing matching frames in a single color, as seen in this long hallway, creates a cohesive look.

This space can house a good amount of art and become a passageway for inspiration.

Utility furniture

Just because hallways are notoriously narrow doesn't mean some furniture can't fit. A slim sideboard, like the one seen in this Barcelona home, offers some extra storage and keeps the space from feeling too sterile.

Rugs

Different rug patterns offer visual interest, and similar color palettes maintain a unified look.

Paint a wall color

A decoration trick widely used to give life and interest to corridors is to paint a colored wall, as we see in the following image.

If you like plants consider this possibility. In the next photo you can see how beautiful it looks.
